Lethal sandwich making

How often does it happen that you kill someone while making a sandwich? Well today that happened to me. I was in the kitchen spreading butter on two slices of bread and putting on some ham. Then as I grabbed an extra slice of ham I moved my right foot a little bit. Quite gently actually. But as I was putting my foot down on the floor I stopped momentarily.

There was a slight cracking sound and I felt something underneath my foot (I was wearing slippers). This surprised me so I jumped back. Looking down on the floor I saw a grey little mouse lying on its side motionless. What? I thought, how can this be possible? I didn't hear or see anything. I didn't even know that we had mice in the house.

So there you go, watch out when you make sandwiches, you might kill someone.
